Diamond and platinum engagement rings and other wedding considerations

Planning a wedding can be an intimidating event, but couples can at least take solace in the fact that marriage ceremonies have been stressful and full of fanfare for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. While the details of assembling the bridal party, shopping for wedding bands and choosing a venue will always be a source of ongoing stress for soon to be married couples, there are at least a few modern conveniences that were not available to couples in the past. The greatest of these is the internet, with its ability to connect people across vast distances and streamline formerly cumbersome tasks. It's relatively common now for couples to use the internet send out online invitations, or 'e-vites'. Another widespread use of the internet is to fill out an online gift registry so that those who are attending the wedding can see what the bride and groom are hoping to receive for their new life together, as well as where they can find it and how much it will cost.

Applications like these aren't particularly inventive anymore, as they've been used by couples for years, but they're still convenient. Most couples planning a wedding wouldn't dream of doing without these online tools. However, one application that couples often fail to consider is the use of an actual website-whether it's a blog or a dedicated site-that can be used to chronicle all of the events and arrangements leading up to and that follows the wedding. This kind of 'wedding announcer' site is a great way to generate enthusiasm for the nuptials. For example, after the groom proposes, the couple can post pictures of their diamond and platinum engagement rings on the website, along with photographs from the romantic night when the proposal happened. When family members and close friends see these snapshots, they'll make a point to mark their calendars for that special day on the horizon. The wedding website can also link to gift registries, include bios of the wedding's participants and include a wealth of information about the couple's lives, the venue where they're getting married and the events that led up to their union.

If a couple is going to use a site like this, it is best if they start planning as early as possible. If the site is introduced to potential guests early enough, it will become the default place to go for information or with questions regarding the ceremony. The bride and groom have to consider whether they want to go with a blog or with a dedicated website. If they choose the latter, they'll need to reserve a domain name and pick out a hosting company. In either case, they'll want to seek out the services of a talented graphic designer who can make the site as attractive and user-friendly as possible. This does not have to be an expensive prospect, as either the bride or groom is likely to have a friend who knows enough about web design to put together a suitable site.
